Daniel A. Clark reminiscence and family miscellany, [1894]-1926.

Consists of a handwritten, undated reminiscence (54 leaves) of Clark's 1850 voyage from Rhode Island to Monterey, Calif. via Panama aboard the clipper ship Sarah; several letters to Clark from the secretary of the Society of California Pioneers of New England, Stephen W. Foster; a few additional letters to and from other family members, including Clark's wife, Sarah E. Clark; a few pieces of family ephemera, including a marriage announcement for Edwin A. Dickinson and Alice R. Clark for Jan. 18, 1894; an illustrated sheet of paper listing the deaths of various family members; a small amount of business papers of Daniel A. Clark; a souvenir booklet of a tour taken by Clark in 1899, to Calif. via the Santa Fe route; numerous canceled checks of Daniel A. Clark, 1903-1912; two cabinet cards of Daniel A. Clark; and one tintype of Sarah E. Clark.

Clark came to Calif. from Pawtucket, Rhode Island, during the Gold Rush. He appears to have been an undertaker in Pawtucket, and to have settled in or around Santa Cruz and Berkeley, Calif.
